The Banning Magnet College Preparatory Program is a school within a school in which students share a common special interest the desire to attend a college or university after high school. The college preparatory program serves students in grades 9 through 12 and works closely with representatives from the UC and CSU systems. Students are programmed into Honors and/or AP (Advanced Placement) English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language classes and can participate in other classes and all activities in the larger school.
The goal of the Banning Magnet College Preparatory Program is to provide the students with a strong academic foundation that will ensure success at the college level. The program is designed to help students establish college preparation goals for themselves and then to assist them in every way possible to achieve those goals.
Our school is committed to instructional excellence without losing sight of our students' individual needs. The instructors work closely with each other to reinforce concepts learned in all areas. Discipline, a nurturing atmosphere, dedicated staff, small classes, and a friendly student body contribute to the students' success. In addition to a challenging curriculum, all magnet students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities.
Our staff works hard to develop well-rounded students who not only excel in academics but in leadership qualities as well. If you are interested in playing on a winning team, Banning High School is the place to be. Banning is noted for its championships in athletics and in cheer and dance. The Pilot Spirit is also evident in the performances of our outstanding band and drill team.
