I hope that you can see Mia but I know that you guys can hear me I hope that everyone is safe is making following the house protocols and that everybody is healthy and hopefully all of your choice are being successful in going on the distance learning platforms that we have provided and being able to communicate with your teachers but before we begin the actual meeting if you wish to listen to the conversation in English if you could please look at the bottom part of your screen if you scroll your scroll down if you're going to see a little Globe their world icon it's the first icon to the right at the bottom of your screen if you scroll have your cursor down you'll see a little Globe there if you could please click that and select what language you would like for you to listen to this meeting with there is options of English and I believe Spanish would you have interpreters are translation unit on waiting to translate in Spanish for you but you would need to select which one you would like to hear a mrs. Guzman is going to do Spanish speakers in Spanish Christmas with month Olivia's like a fire stone in Espanol Mayan okay so we're going to go ahead and begin I also want to introduce my administrative staff who is on line with us as well this morning I want to introduce of Portsmouth City Guzman who just read that those instructions in Spanish Amelia systems principles Miss Miss Leslie Anderson is Rosie Valiente and mr. Whoever know okay so they are all here with us in this virtual I'll copy with principles we also have with us today Rafael Garcia from Providence Little Company of Mary we also went to Rodriguez from mayor garcetti's office Fernando never that there from the council members got your nose office we have Victor Ibarra from assembly Gibson's office and we also have on Karina Dorado for the Boys & Girls Club and so I want to say change it for partners for being also on with us this morning but we're going to go ahead and begin with my agenda items first and then we're going to hear from our Community Partners at the end of our meeting they're going to provide us some updates and play some resources that will be very helpful to all of us here in the Wilmington Community well first and foremost again I hope that everybody is doing very well I hope that be the last seven weeks I've been bearable for everyone I hope that time your children again or keeping up with the with their studies I know that the 10-week grades came out about 2 weeks ago and I hope. that everything is is working out for them and that they're kind of getting in a rhythm of of the distance learning component I know that it's new for for all of us and it has been very challenging I want to be very honest with you with you and it has been very challenging for everyone at all levels and so if your child is experiencing some of that anxiety or some of that frustration. promotions they may be going through I know that they are not alone but we do have services that we can provide them so that they can continue with the year they are there studies through distance learning I know that they can contact their counselors I know they let the teachers know that you just aren't communication if a student is to inform them that they need some some further support and we are here to to help you as you know where you may not know that the teachers are updating their their their lessons on schoology and so that is the Avenue that we are using soul. Tinder assignments and so I hope that your child is keeping up with that as well okay I know that many of you have picked up devices at our school we have three distribution 3 distribution of dates that we were very successful in providing the the distribution store students and so I believe do we just shoot a deer most over 600 computer store your students showed their dire need for them there is a website if you could see it on the screen there that if your child still needs a device or a hotspot or something that they can please log onto this cheese. Lausd.net / itd and the district will be sure to get in contact with you and provider way or a means to get that Chromebook to your child if you have already done so already it is just a matter of time that they will contact you I know that there have been a few sets of parents that have reached out to me and I'm had Thomas leave who was the my coordinator was in the truck or did you ensure that all students are see me there on Chromebooks as well as National over there and the administrators have been a wonderful job out there and making sure that we were practicing social distancing and getting these problems out to our students I know that it was a very happy task considering the times that we're living in right now and having to follow the protocols but I want to say thank you to all the families that I would take them out and I'll pick up the device and it's those those help our cause to make sure that we are keeping everyone including ourselves safe the 15 week on final grades like I said our 1008 final grades are have already been distributed you should have already you see those you can look on schoology to see your child and we grades that I know that there has been some questions about the distribution of grades during this pandemic I just want to reiterates the big pieces of the 15 week and final grade cycle the 15-week grades and the final grades put your child received at the 10-week Mark DJ so for example if I received a c on the 10-week mark my 15 week and my final grade cannot go lower than a c however I can receive a bannah her to go up so I want to ask you to continue to encourage your students your children to to work very hard and complete their assignments this is a golden eye Trinity for them to take to increase their graves don't remain complacent and be happy with a see if they received a d at the 50 we go be happy with that. You're satisfied with that day we want our students to make sure they're there did they try to receive and they are being all of their classes at this time so please encourage your children to get online every day of their is a distant learning scheduled that was on posted on social media it was also sent schoology also on our wedding website so you can see the schedule there that has been laid out for our students but I know that our teachers have been very very flexible with your children and ensuring that these lessons get completed and then they get credit for them so have them please take advantage of this time we have 7 weeks of school left we want to make sure that our students are at the highest pay that they pass and during this time we do not want any of our students grades to to remain as these or apps so they can work their way up and so we have seven weeks to do this and that is a good amount of time to get those grades up so please encourage your children if you need assistance or need to talk to your child's teacher counselor please use the unschooled you platform to email them you can also use the platform on Banning age start or get that is easier for you but I know that we have been receiving any emails from parents and our counselors and support stuff in her teachers have been really good about returning those emails well I know that there has been a number of concerns with our seniors I still for my seniors I wish that I still had total control role of what happens in terms of activities Athletics but we don't we have to follow the guidelines from the State Health Department for our district superintendents keeping us the world warmed up as you may or may not know at 11 on Mondays I'm superintendent buettner provides an update for all of our USD and where the the district is heading in terms of moving into summer and summer school end and the new school year so he will he is on klcs I believe that is channel 16 here weather in Wilmington for those who have Spectrum or you should go to lausd.net and see the superintendent's message again as every Monday at 11 a.m. he's providing updates spots on he did speak with principles yesterday morning and he's kind of summed it up we don't know where we're going to be a month from now however they are taking precautions and follow the guidelines of the State Health Department so we are in our situation having orders to stay at home because we need to make sure that we stay safe and that's all we keep others around us safe as well until we are able to safely guarantee that everybody could be in a in an environment that is healthy and safe for our students or staff and our parents okay. what is Martinez that I'm superintendent Builder gave to us yesterday and closing I'm at our principles organization meeting that I wanted to share that with you going back to the senior activities I will be having a a meeting with Darcy where's the next week to address some of their concerns but it feels like the three that I'm going to mention now are the big ones. They are very very concerned about prom we were very optimistic very hopeful that this would be the way by June, looks like it's it's not going to go away and so prom producer I promise have been cancelled for the school year and so I know that is very heartbreaking for all seniors across h u s t but in particular Banning on myself for my might my singers as well on graduation there has been a lot of early questions and I say early maybe starting about three weeks ago which we didn't have any answers to I'm so now we have some answers for you and I'm switching my some of my notes here so I'm superintendent buettner his staff to talk about virtual graduation and how the district is going provide vendors for school sites to to be able to offer a virtual graduation in about a week or so we should be getting our options and vendors exactly what kind of bomb options at the school site has there will be no drive-thru graduations our drive up graduation because we feel as though as a ousd community that we really cannot control the the safety and the environment and so we have to make sure that we are safe so the virtual graduation was the only option that we will have the graduation will be staggered the dates of the graduation will be steiger's for examples of reason for that is that we have families in Wilmington Delaware Steve that we have students that will be graduating from elementary school in middle school so that we want to make sure that all of our families are able to watch their virtual graduation I'm of their children and not miss the ceremony I have to pick and choose what ceremony to watch okay so they'll be able to view multiple ceremony so they will be staggered okay also another event at Banyan and all high schools is which is a where which is bad that would happen after graduation is also cancelled at this time it is a large venue and of course there are State Health guidelines. those type of venues to open and have such large amounts of people we only have on the average about four hundred students that actually attend grad night every year and so just been here alone with already be out of wood fixed Disneyland out of compliance with if there was to be any guidelines to follow but at this time we have not heard any other than the fact that Prana grab night are canceled okay the district will be advertising a virtual wide spirit week from May 25th to May 29th on their encouraging all schools to participate I know that our aspr leadership students to the wonderful job in establishing a spirit week I think it was like maybe the third or fourth week into the sea order so they they did a fabulous job and the students participated in their spirit week so I want to thank thank you very much for doing so I'm also the district is Gina providing a district virtual prom which will include all high schools in leusd all at the same time it will not be an exclusive prom or Banning High School however the district is provide a virtual file for all of our seniors and that is scheduled for May 30th so it is coming up we just got word of this yesterday so we will make sure I know they're they're going to Adidas flyers and all that and make sure that was posted on our website as well as on the ASD sides and social media so those of you that have social media anything that we post please repost your social media sites without we can ensure that everyone in our school Community is provided this information so there will be more information to come regarding prom and despair weekend virtual prom on the be more information grab-and-go I know that many if not most of you have been taken advantage of going through the grab-and-go lines in front of our school I know that I'm back in high school The Hub Wilmington Community I just want to say thank you to all those volunteers that have worked countless hours and making sure that our families are being said and in our school we've had many personal emails from our students and without hesitation our temperature manager Nadine Jackson and I'm are the temperature manager Harry Bridges at Wilmington Park and Gardena high school they have went out and picking cases and cases of food to the doorsteps of families who didn't have ways to get to Banning High School daily to arm to get food and I wanted to say thank you to that team of the volunteers and the community members who provide lunch to the team out there that's why I'm working every single day to ensure that our families are fed ABS I want to thank you I think over there feeding over twelve thousand thirteen thousand families a day so that is up that is amazing work and it is truly felt by all of us in the Banning community and the Wilmington I just want to say thank you and thank you so very very much but the grammar go is every day from 8 to 12 so if you have not been able to go out and you are in need of so please. go out there and take advantage of the fact that there are meals being served to the community they are open to everyone so we are very grateful and we are very grateful to the donors that were provided food and Easter they were providing Easter baskets to the families who had young kids and so that was very touching at a very very nice to see so I'm again thank you to everyone in superintendent buettner updates on more last update about a week ago he announced that the school year will begin on August 18th so that's good that we will be able to have some continuity in RI Jamaican calendar however he did not say specifically and these are questions that came up yesterday at our on for some more ordered organization meeting is that what is that going to look like I was just be going back to school will we be doing our continuing distance learning I'm at this time he says we don't know what we are planning to open our school year on August 18th what's that looks like his unknown yet we still have time it is only May 7th yesterday was a 6 please there's only two days only May 6th and things can change in a month or two or we just don't know but again I want to reiterate that we are as a district genuine to follow the California houses Apartments guidelines updates and directives in terms of moving forward so we will make sure that we will continue to communicate that you but again as they are USB family every Monday at 11 superintendent buettner gives us updates so again I want to encourage you to to either watch it for those who Spectrum Cable near Wilmington watch it on channel 16 or you can go to lausd.net wherever you are and watches update are at any time watches update because it is recorded and it is uploaded onto the LAUSD website so if you miss it at 11 live you can always go on lausd.net again I watch is update at any time okay so at this time I want to go ahead and turn it over to our Community Partners who will provide it with some updates on what's happening around the community some of the resources that they provide our they've been providing since we have been in stay at home order so I also want to ask Miss Guzman if you can please monitor the as well and then we can answer any questions at the end if any two to our community so I didn't want to thank everybody for tuning in and so we're going to go ahead and turn it over first to master Rock Garcia from Providence Company of Mary or Raphael you there Raphael is emu did mrs. Guzman is he here on the list so himself and he is you don't see him online so we will go over to our next guest and we will check again if I'll be out soon hear from him as we are is Joanna Rodriguez on from mayor garcetti's office are you here near me you see her we can hear far away so if you can what about now good afternoon good morning this is better Garcia for the technical side all guest speakers if you can please click on the icon at the bottom of your screen and select English that way we can hear you loud and clear again click globe on the bottom of your screen and select English and then proceeded to provide your update thank you everyone has been awhile I miss I must be in the face being indoors and working from going to thank you for giving me this opportunity to provide some updates from the mayor's office. I'll drive in writing just because I want to make sure I am touching on things that I'm hearing directly from some of the residents and also do you mention this bad it's been a over seven weeks since the mayor issued the safer at home order basically where he calls angelenos to stay in their residence in the middle activities outside or the last night you guys don't know but the mayor provide is doing Daily Briefing Friday through Sunday at 5:15 where he talks about where he provides updates to angelinos on any new developments in New Order I'm going to start off with last night's announcement cuz it was a pretty big announcement and then I'll I'll talk about last week and I'll just touch on like quarters that I think is ordered that I share with you all right now so last night the mayor made a big announcement announcing that he will be modifying the LA safer at home orders to reflect drfirst space for La this will begin this Friday these retail stores include Flores toy stores music stores book stores clothing stores or just curbside pickup only images are not mandated to open and should only open if they can do so safely so we do have a website dedicated so that anyone any business owners are in the sky virus that paper La once another thing is starting to Saturday angelenos May return to City trowel Saturday are required and they should practice face practice physical distancing not only Wonder like in the settings button when they're in public in your household we are still encouraging people to when possible and people aren't aboard and non-essential travel limited access to retail stores in public spaces gradual step in what will be a very slow and steady process of vaccine in an effective treatment would 19 will continue to be a serious Public Health threat to our communities for City the space space to will enable us to restrictions while carefully monitoring risk and needs so I just threw these last stages of recovery do you want to make clear that the acid on again he's lifting restriction but he's going to really keep an eye on those on the dad said he might consider earring back but again she's on a daily call with the public health department again on the county also now we're following the guidance of our Public Health so if anyone wants to get a little bit more information on again that website or slash diaper la I'll be sending an email later today with all this information on renters rights the city passed an eviction moratorium order a couple of weeks ago and one of the thing is I was once the covid-19 emergency declaration has been lifted have 12 months to pay the rent and it for any commercial tenants will have three months to pay back the rent is really important if you guys can all share this with your know your neighbors that pay their rent they don't have to leave their home to inform them that they cannot pay the rent that month invented plan on how you will get back I'll pay back that wrench I know we've been hearing from a couple of residents I've been here for a couple of residence. together like this agreement and like trying to I'm trying to forward and forcing some tenants to sign us in agreement that the Lambert Lambert should always work how to come up with that agreement so that's why we're all of our tenants please reach out to your landlord inviting just go to a community is the Housing Community investment Department as well as well as it's already like a formatted letter all you have to do is information and submitted to your landlord don't have access to Internet to reach out to them through their hotline number that number is +866-655-773-6812 a Louisville in Spanish and then Angelina I do want to just give a quick that I just a quick received over 400,000 application high demand Program start letting folks know about 2 weeks ago that if they were selected in this was through texting calling number as of last Friday the number that I got submitted game over five million dollars 182 individual stocks are pretty excited you continue to try to fundraise money if you are able to raise enough money you won't open up face too so I will definitely keep you updated so he can and then another big announcement made last week was the senior meal program it's the emergency senior meal program it's an expansion of the senior meal program and it's for seniors and not that are not participating in any existing programs like Meals on Wheels or any other type of program like how Fred this specific programs at the Met pronounce a half ago it's a pretty so I do want to say that people regardless of their immigration status for this program over the age of 65 or ages of 16 underlying health condition so if you are interested in applying for the Corona virus. LA City. Org senior meals there is also a phone number to assist if you want if you call One Call number. Phone number is +213-263-522-6263 5226 it's a pretty long application I'll be just a really honest with you so again it's the reason being is because we're getting we're having we're getting funnier we're getting this money from the federal government so that's it's on its pretty long application and then just quickly on the worker protection ordinance you are working or if you're going to begin working face coverings I cannot provide any face coverings employees can then buy purchase additional should I allow workers to allow the workers to wash and ensure that there is there is some hotline or what is it a website that we have so is your business if your employer does not provide these wash your hands every 30 minutes or they're not providing a face covering or they're not or they're refusing to reimburse you if you guys can report violations at Corona virus that LA City. Org / report business violation I know there's all these websites business violation and then just left the entrance of testing as of today we have 34 testing sites across LA County were administering / 18000 super Super 1 that's that I was like super makeup for making up 60% of the State of California 60% I'm sorry LA county is making a 60% of testing data and for the State of California so we're we're super happy because we're really taking up the knee providing you know chest and last week last week and a half ago we became the first city in the country to provide testing to all Angelina so we're super excited about that. if you're interested in scheduling an appointment you guys can go to Corona virus that Ellie city.org testing or I can also call them help desk at 213-978-1028 and then just a reminder to check the Facebook also I am I do hope weekly call twice a week to go over the mayor's orders for the week and I also answer questions I have one car in Spanish another one English to Spanish Thursdays and Fridays at 4 p.m. so Johanna thank you so much when that it was a lot of information and so I was just going to ask if you could provide the possible of one-pager that we might be able to post on our website so that our parents can go we will definitely upload her points from today's message on our website so thank you so very much appreciate if you're doing well taking care of yourself as well thank you so much okay so did Rafael are you on okay is Fernando forgotten ever have to feel comfortable staying as office are you are you sure are you we're doing well how are you good it's unusual to see everyone on the screen I'm used to seeing you all in the library and it'll be awhile till we get to the status at least in the capacity you know one thing that I was the amount of parents that this is very respectfully but I what the would want to say is I've never been more proud to work for the city of La and having such great leadership not only in the city but in the county but also in the state I feel like our elected officials have really stepped up IncrediPet of this pandemic keep me up with the news I know it's hard not to have you see what's going on in other states where some states haven't even declared a state of emergency in California was the first of its kind I'm our governor governor Newsom really got ahead of the curve our mayor has done an exceptional job in our LA County Partners have done an exceptional job and making sure that everybody safe I know we're kind of getting to that. we're getting anxious to get out if you see what's going on in in Orange County but we know we're at work were flattening the curve and I think you know the more we stay inside the or the safer we are but I think we need to be patient that's the message that I leave my screen you have some some visuals for you all let me know if you can actually see it oh I guess it's disabled in somebody going to share my screen that would be up to the sugar Sia or Miss Teresa picture once again can you see my screen know yes no head and tired Casino yes, so this is just a quick snippet of what we've been doing in our district will counselor will stay has been doing just to summarize everything be respectful of everyone's time Joanna shirt a lot of amazing information that is the same for us here in Wilmington so we have a Community Fund of about a million dollars discretionary budget contributed $500,000 Fortune it to have an in an angel investor match that fund so would that 1 million dollars with an able to as you can see here this tribute 16000 meals to seniors that we continue to do on Monday through Thursday from San Pedro all the way to W all five of our communities we have 1,000 members signed up and the great thing about this program is the worst only supporting our seniors and people with disabilities which are the most vulnerable when it comes to this pandemic but also we're allowing or helping out our local restaurant so there I'm a little bit over 20 restaurants are participating Flower District in all five of our districts including hero Wilmington some of you are familiar with this one of those restaurants that is benefiting from this so this opportunity to you know how folks were born will stay at home to receive two meals a day Monday through Thursday but also we support our restaurants which are obviously smaller Mom and Pops that are hurting during this pandemic also had one drive-thru event about 2 weeks ago Harbor Sports Complex where we serve a living over 3,000 families would 35 lb of groceries operation with the LA County said which is a great event and then we also distributed $500,000 worth of grocery gift cards from Von's to various spam please add multiple boys and girls Boys & Girls Club locations which was great the location Wilmington was at Harry Bridges greater than or equal to help many families those throw them vulnerable to get some groceries and things as as groceries are also able to get our meal during this time we've had a lot of folks private and public sector partners you're Wilmington and some Partnerships throughout the city have been donating the much-needed PPE so we've had in total as you can see about 60,000 Macedonia 50,000 mass of your regular mess and 10095 so we send out to our local hospitals like Kaiser in our district we also provided mass for every single one of our first responder are both our Southeast Division and our Harbor division police stations and all of our on fire stations were given Mass because again they are the first ones out there to respond we want to make sure that our folks are protected at the beginning of this pandemic it was such a such an issue getting that that available PPE including gloves face mask for able to provide that and also giving you know folks in the community who need them and who requested them the much-needed PPE and we've also been able to host a to blood drives what was hosted at the the YMCA and the other was hosted at RC Center here in Wilmington at Benning Park so that's what we've been doing in the district when it comes to the Corona virus Corona related this pandemic is going to take it over on live so would like to share something other than this virus can you guys see my screen now yes so we are in Parker width of the la la Conservation Corps last year we applied for a state Grand where they we both are were able to match our funds so as you can see your sidewalk is being built right next to the Town Square Park right across the street from Ordon Hotel we're doing a lot of sidewalk repair on Avalon. This is all part of our on Avalon initiative to revitalize Avalon it's going to be a little bit more difficult now but we're still putting in effort on this sidewalk here has not been repaired or built out since the 1930s when we took out some of this ground was still brick and back in the day they used to do was mix Pebbles and stone with the asphalt so that's what we dug out so this sidewalk you as being prepared to match the Town Square Park which I actually have a folder for you all here to show you the work is being done so this is the Gazebo here facing the the east side of the park it'll be done by the end of June of this year Mark is coming along way as you know this was an effort by both the city of lar Council district and a generous donation by our partners over at Marathon they donated $1000000 that I was able to complete this is beautiful parts of close to two million dollars for this beautiful Town Square Park is going to be the centerpiece as a councilman likes to to call the centerpiece of all our art and culture in Wilmington that's going to be facing Avalon so I've looked look out for the invitation whether it's a virtual or or in person I know we we have yet to see because of the pandemic but definitely something amazing for the community to because you're going to be a beautiful part of beautiful investment for the community and last but not least I want to give you an update on the bridge home so this is the photo Facing East again of the bridge home on Eubank the abridge home is about 80% complete as you can see the the white canopy is gone up there building a community right outside imma let you know this this facility will house about 100 individuals experiencing homelessness in the community of Wilmington as you probably also heard the mayor also opened up a lot of rec centers throughout the city of La to house many angelinos which is an amazing blessing I'm one of the sites in our district was a park in Normandale Park in Harbor City and 103rd a Street Park in a w with your both housing about 60/70 individuals each which again is a an amazing blessing for for a city you know during this pandemic to get the most Stokes house because it's definitely a a much-needed a resource when it comes to making sure we control this pandemic with that that's that's my report again I want to be respectful of everyone's time I can't stress this enough you know if you can stay indoors have these virtual meetings stay stay indoors you know we're getting to that stretch where were your work easy restrictions on certain things by the end of this week but again we can't get too complacent or too comfortable with what we've done now because he know what are RX Richard saying is that we we let this go go back to things as normal as we can see in Spike and in the cases in the last thing we want to do is exhaust our our medical resources so what that in my presentation I do actually jump to the field and then go to work cuz I am technically an essential worker so I do have to hop off here if there's any questions or if you guys want a written report more than happy to provide that for you all cuz a lot of information and I want to make sure that there are folks this information or if you want this D Snippets were these photos have anything that you would like for us to put on our our website is the one-pager or anything you know I said she's just going to me and I will go ahead and do that but thank you so much for being with us this morning and be safe out there until you get to go to work I think you guys thank you for Danville okay so are I'm next yes again so I'm going to lose my mind if you can please in Spanish remind them about the world globe at the bottom I know that we had one or two about Spanish I don't think they stood over to the Spanish part yes and click on that didn't respond Yoli English Espanol take me to school tomorrow we're going to go ahead and begin our go to our next guest was on Victory water from an awesome day my Gibson's office are you here picture hi good morning can you hear me are you good morning how are you I just want to say thank you to your principal Mendoza and the administrators for giving me this opportunity and as well as continuing to provide updates to our our constituents to Echo for now common in the local and state government has done an amazing job in my perspective in comparison to other states and as always California leaves and the rest follows and that's always the case. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy and others these are some hard times and maybe many people are scared and confused but please know this too shall pass it is important that we all look out for each other stay home and Obey orders both at the state and local levels and I do want to give an update on behalf of the assembly member Cynthia's in Sacramento I'll put her office team has continued to work from home and we will continue to conduct case work and assistance kitchen for State services and in March as many of you know before the state legislature left Sacramento for an early recess covid-19 in Bradford of flattening the curve they passed ab89 which was to give a governor up to 1 billion dollars to combat the virus and they also passed legislation to provide a hundred million to school to help them with their finances and keeping them and keep them going until we passed a budget which is in in June the assembly member also signed on to a letter to provide a moratorium on evictions for renters through May 31st 2020 you also send a letter to provide a stamp for small business the nonprofit but unfortunately I do not receive the same executive action by the governor and we are working closely with the project have you part of this project off basically partnership between the state and County to transform the mini hotel that are currently not occupied by covid-19 patient to serve as a temporary shelter for homeless brothers and sisters to avoid contacting contacting the Coronavirus recently the assembly member introduce a b at 8:28 along with his colleagues at 6 to impose a moratorium on evictions and foreclosures on residents whose incomes have been diminished because of the Coronavirus no addictions are foreclosures during the declared state of emergency related to covid-19 + 15 days afterward and it says that course can set up a repayment plan for monies owed and allowed residents to remain in their home additionally and currently in 54 / 70 District so in Marana District we have eight testing locations for covid-19 I actually just made my appointment to go get checked this coming Saturday so I encourage you off in case you're having symptoms even if you're not kind of going out in your essential workers please get tested as somebody's location the closest nearby R&R Carson Community Center I know there's one in Keizer does the yamaka Hospital Charles Drew and five others I'm sure many of you have are the six stages of reopening state that being said stage 2 will be opening tomorrow Friday which means certain businesses will be open but I do want to encourage you all to continue physical disc it's very important to flatten to continue to flatten the curve and it would definitely take some time for return back to normal but we must continue to be cautious I do want to add that our team continues to work from home we welcome any questions you can give us a call at 310-324-6408 once again 310-324-6408. That's our office number and though we are working from home we are receiving those calls I myself continue to do multiple case work so if anyone needs assistance with casework which means assisting with state agencies such as ADD and unemployment I know the many individuals have been affected financially and are applying for unemployment and might not be able to contact someone directly just feel free to give us a call or send me an email at Victor. Ybarra at ASM. Ca.gov I'll give mr. Mendoza this information so that he can post it on his website remember how is returned back to Sacramento as of this week on Monday the 4th and will be working to advocate for more funding and resources for a constituent in our district at the state level the only really Hearing in order to expedite Services is leading to homelessness or how to defeat covid-19 so that's the main concern at the state legislature and as you know what happens at in the state legislature in Sacramento is technically legislation that becomes law so we're preparing for the we are going to see a recession from what people are talking about and it's very difficult to 2 Still Still call this in and what we're going through but we must remain calm and continue to follow our state and local regulations if the want to get through this and I just want to say thank you and please continue to be safe and continue to wash your hands thank you Victor so much for being there this morning and I hope all is well with you as well thank you whatever you would like for us our website would really appreciate it no ask my boss mr. Cooper are you online right here yeah so thank you for being here this morning as well I know you're very busy and racing off to another meeting but I would like to suggest some the parents I do thank you so much and I want to thank you Rudy the first people that the host your own virtual town halls and them thank you for the Local District support that is that is work to set this up we were using a new feature called Zoom webinar to make sure we're able to make sure it's safe for everybody to use and then does not get that what we call zoombomb during during the meeting for this new Venture and I thank you for the team for working has been on the Forefront of ensuring that our students receive a quality education during this time we know it's extraordinary times we know that it's something that nobody has really done to this scale before and they're just hitting the ground running by one of the things that were things are working with a group to ensure that we are measuring what success looks like for a kids and we're on the special instructional plan for specifically mathematics to figure out the best possible way deliver instruction to our students so Banning High School once again is always on the Forefront of providing a quality education to our kids super appreciative for their entire team as well for all the hours that they put in as they are truly a I know mr. Mendoza called Banning High School the convention center of Wilmington but I think that's very accurate I think there's a lot of people with I was banished by the pride and them they're just doing such an outstanding job we're very thankful mr. Mendoza other than mentioning that you have amazing graduation rates and your team is just doing an amazing job I need to drop off to go to my next meeting we're we're discussing summer school for our forest and I'm sure Rudy probably talked about that already or or will do that in the process of this call thank you have a good day and I know that we are already at 4 Hour at 10:05 we're going to end let's end at 10:15 is Karina door Bravo hello yes can you hear me okay well good morning everyone thank you once again for having us I'm definitely going to be my first time my name is Karina and I currently serve as the college-bound coordinator just want to give up I give you a few updates I know Mike Ali ingrey also abandon alarm who will attend this meeting angry is now on what you will be having a he soon and so with that we're also doing the grab-and-go as well we currently have about seven locations of all the way from Harbor City of Gardena Wilmington to San Pedro also providing about 5,000 school supplies as well and 6,000 books to keep our students learning and an active and engaged 25,000 meals week that were also did inform our grab-and-go program and the distribution for school supplies is on Mondays the book distribution is on Wednesday and I'm free art supplies as well for a family so any of those 3 days our family said to take home school supplies books or art supplies for the students we are just recent last week we did get our building sanitize so that's another update that we have as well as far as our program college-bound we are college Access program and we're still continue to with our seniors more than anything specially for those that are getting ready to go on to higher education just recently on Friday we had our national college signing day today and it was a great turnout we ended up reaching capacity so it was a good problem but unfortunately there was a still feels students at weren't able to get in however we did post our celebration on YouTube we're now on YouTube as well we do have a channel so make sure to subscribe we're also on Instagram and constantly trying to post our updates on there as well we figure that you took an Instagram our our our best way of communicating working with the community we are also zooming with our students as well we're all doing everything virtually and we're working from home we did have our first meeting on financial literacy last month the last Thursday of the month since we know we have seen your parents who wanted to know more or had two questions related to financial aid or financial literacy and as far as paying for the students education we do have our College Bound scholarship out has been out for about a month now and our deadline was Friday however given the circumstances and give and a pandemic seniors and extending an extension or giving them additional time to work on that we have received over $100,000 phone owners and partners scholarship so we hope that it can go to a party I'm doing all that I can to get them some money to go to school we are also working along with the with the seniors and trying to keep their energy and their motivation High became the month of May is definitely going to be a month of Celebration so we definitely want to keep the momentum going and celebrate them on going off to college or any form of higher education and last but not least we still have to research Monday through Friday we're working around the clock so if you email as we can definitely try to provide you with academic support if knock-on Academy still great option and we're also taking appointments for any who's concerned about their students progress or anything that's related to high school graduation college and so forth I will be sending sending this out providing the community with our number are our direct line and so that they can reach out to us if they have any questions or concerns right now primarily our seniors are number our number one priority given that we don't have much time with them as they will be graduating but we won't work with them up until they start school or their first day of college as well but even then we still have a really strong relationship with our college-bound alumni or former former students before I forget we are taking signups for the college classes in the fall and we're still kind of transitioning I may not know where we're at but we will still be offering college courses in the fall and it will have sign ups for that I'll probably sometime at the end of this month as well it's on that as well so that's that's all that I have so much for being with us this morning that I really appreciate it I'll stay safe okay yes thank you thank you happiness as well as accept station right on this one I just don't have nothing and so I just want to go ahead and have breasts that came up on the name I know that I had. questions about graduation and then some questions in the queue on naso what are the questions that were submitting a head of time we're questions about to please have a graduation graduation graduation even if it's later in the year and how do you know what about grades senior dues for activities that were not happening how do seniors pick up transcripts for college what about the Panorama picture that's called jacket and the Yearbook okay so there okay so I'm going to go down the list that I have right now and then if I don't answer that supposed to speak questions must move on I'll just go ahead and focus be back into I know there are questions that you just asked okay so in terms of graduation and having a graduation at a later date yes of course I would love to have a graduation at a later date I would love to I've seen of the universities and what they're doing I believe that they are already saying that they maybe I'll be able to offer a graduation in December for those graduates were supposed to graduate in meso if we are given the green light to assemble enlarger get a large venue in larger numbers yes of course I am open to providing a graduation to our students I believe that they deserve it, believe they work very very hard I will do anything and everything that I can to make sure that that happens to be very cautious about acknowledge the fact that we have to wait for the green light from the state of California to do so so that is basically why I am very hesitant to share more information with you about the graduation because of the unknown but once that green light is on yes of course I will be more than happy to provide a band graduation for Banning record that is my plan today and let's hope that I'm able executed once all of the song call Zara question about the school being sanitized the school is Santa Claus right now as we speak there's no one going in and out of the classroom and cleaned and sanitized and so we're very grateful the Injured Workers at our plant managers for for doing so the refund for prom of there will be a refund for all of the activities that will do Brad night however there is already there has been a Google comes with the students have already filled out to provide a refund to them Mr Vargas is the one who was in charge of grad night and is actually getting those filled out by the student so I will bring customer service for doing that also there was a question about virtual graduation yes there will be a graduation there this is the directive to have a virtual graduation for all graduation from 5th grade to 8th grade to 12th grade are we want to make sure that our kids are recognized for what they have accomplished and again that is the virtual graduation that we will have will get more information about it where to buy Super tender Buda that we have formation starting next week in regards to how we can move forward with our virtual graduation but again this will be separate from the one that we are very optimistic in Adelaide dates again and phones on suits watching the the universities and how they're going to plan their route 2020 graduation and right now it looks like they're planning it for December 10th that way might be a good idea to attend anytime sooner because our students will be away at college and hopefully they will sign up to participate if we're able to have a graduation in December when they're back home for the for the holidays okay so I want to make sure that everyone is included in that but Unity the yearbooks the yearbook so we are all they ever has been completed they are on their way to Banning High School we will have a distribution schedule and how we're going to do that so we'll make sure that we have that info Steven brown bears be paid it'll be well advertised okay there's a question about how do we get our students are children's schedule for classes if you go on to Banning a chess. our website you will see our distance learning schedule in that schedule at the very top is the schedule for Content area and time when the students can log in and with their teacher also through schoology they can also email this has Peter Simon parent you can also use your login and see the same what's your children were seeing okay I think I talked about the assassination of the Boys & Girls Club I just recovered that so I know that there was a questions about was a jack where's my jacket Escala jackets you have any talk on the panoramic picture okay so I miss it as loud as sound are you online what's the time to do we have any updates that I know we talked about this and I didn't mean any updates about the smell. does a tenant have any information about bed jackets on my picture any updates we're working closely with the senior class advisor Miss ornelas and we are devising a plan and when we meet with rodents we will we will let them know how the plan that we have in place so we can be able to distribute the panoramic pictures and all of the items so we will just students if they can stay tuned for a meeting next week with mister Mendoza so just know that we are going to dress all these issues at our senior meeting next week I don't like that we are most answers for all of them but again the senior jackets and the panoramic picture okay we will make sure that we have those answers for okay so it is 1020 I want to thank all of you who still have 60 people on the platform so I want to thank you very much for your patience and sticking with us as we're learning how to Niagara Navigator's house hopefully our next we're looking at June 5th again it'll be out of your connected send out to you and we hope that all of you will join us again for the updates as we move forward okay and I hopefully I will have another update for you but again he doesn't updates on Monday for those of us that have Spectrum or you can log on anytime okay so I want to see you very much again please everyone please remain keep stay safe and healthy make sure you wear your mask and gloves and follow the protocols that are being given to all of us as we are in this together this too shall pass you guys are all in my thoughts and in my prayers I missed being at Banning High School
