BHS Athletics - Frequently Asked Questions

These are a listing of the most commonly asked questions that come through our Athletic Program.

  • How will uniforms and equipment be provided and collected?

The School will purchase and provide uniforms and equipment from District approved vendors to each student-athlete.
During this time of uncertainty due to COVID-19, the District will provide guidance on how schools will collect District-issued property (i.e textbooks, musical instruments, athletic uniforms, etc.).
**under normal circumstances, the Head Coach will collect the uniforms from each of their student-athletes once their season has concluded.

  • How are student-athletes cleared for sports participation?

Banning High School Athletics has purchased AthleticClearance.com to collect online paperwork; however, the District requires a hard copy (original) of each student-athlete’s completed:
  • A REQUIRED stamped and signed physical examination form to be turned into the Head Coach of their sport or the Athletic Director. Before a student-athlete is deemed cleared, District Nursing will need to approve all physicals.
Instructions for AthleticClearance.com can be found on the Banning High School website under ATHLETICS

  • Student-Athletes who are TRANSFERRING into Banning High School from another high school.

In addition to completing the TRANSFER section on AthleticClearance.com, student- athletes must also complete a CIF transfer form, which can be found under the ATHLETICS tab on the BHS website. You can print out either a 206 or 207 form based on your transfer situation. The completed, original copy with documents (if applicable) must be turned into the Athletic Director.
206 Form: Valid Change of Address. Please provide a bill (utility, bank statement, car payment, etc) from both the old and new address in the same parent’s name.
207 Form: Address did not change or proof of address change cannot be provided. Eligibility status will be determined based off of prior sports participation at previous school.

District policies and procedures remain in place. There are no waivers at the state level for any of the requirements.

  • Are student-athletes allowed to arrive and/or leave through private transportation during the season for AWAY non-league and league games?
