Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) 2020-2021

On behalf of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Division of Special Education, Psychological Services/Educationally Related Intensive Counseling Services (ERICS), we invite you to participate in Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) workshops. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we will be providing virtual PCT workshops. The purpose of PCT is to offer you information on child development, to enhance your knowledge and understanding of your child’s special needs, and to assist you in acquiring skills to support the implementation of your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). PCT workshops are free of cost, and you are welcome to participate virtually. We acknowledge your commitment to your child’s success in school and look forward to assisting you in this process. To maximize your experience, we encourage you to attend virtually as many workshops as possible.

PCT Workshop Topics:

  • How to build a foundation for social and emotional well-being
  • Identify the keys to raising children with guidance and teachings that help children succeed
  • Enhance and foster the home and school connection
  • Parenting based on brain research

Attached, you will find the PCT schedule, which includes dates, times, and Zoom links. This PCT informational packet is also available online via the LAUSD Parent Portal. You can register for this online platform at https://parentportalapp.lausd.net/parentaccess/. If you require assistance with accessing the Parent Portal, please contact a staff member in the main office of your child’s school. You may obtain a copy of this PCT announcement from your child’s IEP team. All workshops will be provided in both English and Spanish. If you have questions, please call (818) 654-5053. We look forward to seeing you!
