Our Vision

To develop well-rounded individuals for college, career and life.

Our Mission

The Banning High School College Preparatory Magnet Program develops scholars through an individualized and personalized comprehensive high school experience inclusive of athletics, arts and extracurricular activities. Faculty, students and parents collaborate to cultivate skills necessary for future personal, academic and career success through an experiential learning    process in small class sizes; emphasizing critical thinking, problem solving, self-determination, self-esteem, responsibility and interconnectivity.

 Science/Technology/Engineering/Arts/Math (STEAM) Magnet

Banning High School’s new STEAM Magnet uses an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. The end results are students who take thoughtful risks, engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!

 Police Academy Magnet (PAM)

The Police Academy Magnet is a college and career pathway academy, preparing students for a career in law enforcement. In partnership with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and Los Angeles School Police (LASP), our students gain important knowledge about law enforcement, receive valuable mentorship, and critical leadership skills. Students take honors courses and are provided physical and mental strength training. If a student decides to pursue the field of law enforcement, our students are prioritized for a program that is affiliated with West Los Angeles Community College (P.O.P.P.) and students can earn an Associate of Arts Degree (AA) in Administration of Justice working through the LAPD Ahmanson Recruit and In-Service Training Center with a direct path to the LAPD Police Academy.
