What is the International Trade Academy?

The International Trade Academy is a predetermined career path with sequenced courses that include the academic and vocational knowledge and skills defined by business and industry. It leads to employment in international careers. It includes planned academic courses that are coordinated with related post secondary institutions. The curriculum includes academic and interpersonal skills required for success in the current and future workforce.

How is the academy different from the other academy’s?

The International Trade Academy empowers students to strive for academic excellence while helping them obtain skills that will benefit them in the future. We are here to prepare emerging leaders and encourage students to reach their fullest potential.

How do I become a member of the International Trade Academy?

Students will be able to make their choices at the middle school when Banning counselors visit for articulation or upon enrollment at Banning HS. 

Who can apply to the International Trade Academy

Students who are currently enrolled in eighth grade and are planning to attend Phineas Banning High School and new students to Banning HS.   

Can you participate in the Maritime Scholars program and be a member of ITA simultaneously?

Yes, you can be a Maritime Scholar and be an ITA member.

Can you be part of ITA and still participate in clubs and sports?

Yes, you can participate in multiple clubs and sports while still being in the academy.

What will my schedule look like?

As a freshman, you will be taking seven classes. These classes consist of English, Math, Math tutoring, Science, Health, Physical Education, and a Spanish course.
