What is GESA?

The Global Environmental Science Academy (GESA) was established in 2004 and is a California Partnership Program under Banning High School's "PORT" Small Learning Community (SLC). Our GESA academy is a specialized SLC and is one of four SLC academies under our PORT school. GESA is for students interested in science and the environment who want to be a part of a community of learners who work together, who support each other, and who all have a common goal of graduating high school with the skills needed to be successful in their future. GESA now has an Advisory Board, as well as a community support from the Port of Los Angeles, Office of Environmental Management, the Harbor Association of Industries and Commerce, including Phillips 66, Tesoro, Valero, and other.

GESA will inspire you to care more about our planet and learn ways to keep her clean, green, and sustainable. You will overcome obstacles that will prepare you for life after high school and prepare you for the real world of solutions for the environmental challenges of the future.
